What Ariana Grande did just make her the new Queen.
Ariana’s beautiful voice and face might have been some of the reasons why people love her. But her new video is just an undeniable proof that she is the queen that pop culture needs right now.
Ariana released the video for her self-love anthem “Thank you, Next”. A song she wrote after breaking off her engagement with Pete Davidson. In the song, she mentions her exes saying “I thought that I would end up with Sean, but he wasn’t a match” making reference to Big Sean who she dated publicly years prior her engagement with Pete. The lyrics go on saying “I met someone else… Her name is Ari and I am so good with that”. This is probably an exercise that people should do, a reflection of past relationships and realize how much they can help one’s growth.
The 25-years-old, God is a Woman singer replays the roles of our favorite characters and scenes including Regina George from 2004’s “Mean Girls.” and “Legally Blonde.” The video broke the record of being the most viewed video in 24 hours according to YouTube. In the video, there is a scene of Ariana reading a book titled ‘immigration and refugee law and policy”. With the recent political drama around immigration in the country, one can find comfort in knowing that Ariana Grande cares about those in need of immigration reform right now. A twitter fan zoomed on the picture and tweeted ‘QUEEN”. Ariana Grande is just so beautiful inside out and has continoulsy show that she is not afraid to fail, to grow and to remain a fierce feminist who stands for what is right. Her ability to take on the role and speak for immigrants rights should not be lost on any of us. Because we need an advocate in pop culture who is going to call for action at every opportunity.
The video features Mom in chief, Kris Jenner who took social media to show her love for the masterpiece Directed by Hannah Lux Davis.
